Over the next month, Golden Louie Studios will be relocating from the Philadelphia area to Baltimore, Maryland. We have a lot going on right now, but we’ll check back in once the dust has settled. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2008 is gonna be a helluva year.

December Update
Thanks for checking in. DJ Pioneer is still working on his 3rd album, and it's slowly coming along (no hurry this time). All beats and lyrics will be original. “The tracks are sounding kind of lo-tech, but definitely interesting. It probably sounds a little different than what you're used to," said Pioneer.
Who knows, maybe we'll have a track for you in time for Christmas!

All Bets Are Off
Hey everyone, a new Pioneer track was recorded last week, "All Bets Are Off." It’s posted on DJ Jaymac's MySpace page as well as in our “Downloads” section. The beat was produced by the talented Jonesboy from Milwaukee. Check it out!

Coors Silver Bullet Tour
Last night, the crew decided to hit the town to attend the Coors Silver Bullet Tour in Philly. It was a joyous occasion with games, drinks, and entertainment. The beer was flowing, the cheerleaders were dancing, and everybody was vibing.

WMMR BBQ Concert
On Sunday,
Pioneer, Shoelace, and the crew returned to the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ
for the WMMR BBQ. A lot of big-name
bands were there to perform. Seether and
Three Days Grace had fine sets, and Collective Soul took us back to high
school. Breaking Benjamin rocked pretty
hard and played a bunch of songs off of their new album. Live headlined the festival, and they were
great as always. Ed Kowalczyk really put
his heart into it. Great show all
around.

End of Summer Wrap-Up
So, you might
be wondering what Pioneer has been up to lately. Labor Day weekend is already here (the
unofficial end of summer), but that doesn’t mean the end of anything else. Things are definitely heating up. Pioneer is working with DJ Jaymac (CEO of
Silver Mic), Milwaukee-based producer Jonesboy, and other regional artists on a
mixtape project. Its purpose is to promote
the talents of all involved. Pioneer
hopes to make 2 contributions to the album.
Here is the
official MySpace page of the mixtape project:
Additionally, DJP has started work on his next solo album. He has been crafting his own beats and lyrics when time permits. Don’t expect to see it anytime soon – Pioneer is going to put all he has into it. He promised “the beats will be original, and the lyrics will be much deeper and more intricate this time around.” As always, thanks for sticking with us. Stay tuned for more.

Beastie Boys in Philadelphia
Last night, we
took the crew out to Philly to see the Beastie Boys, one of the greatest music
groups in history. Luckily, it was a
pretty short drive from the studio. They
played a variety of songs from many of their albums. Mix Master Mike kicked things off, and the
Beastie Boys came out with their instruments.
They quickly got into some hip-hop songs and rocked the house. They played a few songs from their new
instrumental album, The Mix-Up, and Mix Master Mike looked kind of bored
during them. At one point, the crowd
broke into an Eagles chant, which the Boys thought was pretty funny. When MCA laughed about someone in the crowd
holding their phone up during a song, I swear he was talking about us. After they did “So What’cha Want,” they came
back and did an encore with “Intergalactic,” “Heart Attack Man,” and
“Sabotage.” Overall, it was an awesome
show, and we all had a great time!

Easy As Pie Release
Easy as Pie
is ready for the public! We apologize
for keeping it secretive for so long, but this should add to the excitement
(hopefully). Be sure to let us know or
tell Pioneer in person if you’d like a copy on CD. A handful of songs will be available on the
Downloads section of the site as well.
Several “battle rap” songs are included in addition to the usual
Pioneer-style numbers. Also
included: a freestyle by Silver Mic
Records CEO Jaymac! Be sure to give us
any feedback you might have. We hope you
like what you hear!

LL Cool J in Atlantic City
Last night, Entrigue and DJ Pioneer were at the House of Blues in Atlantic City to see the G.O.A.T. himself, LL Cool J! We originally had tickets to see Ice Cube, but he ended up cancelling his show at the last minute. In a magnanimous move, the House of Blues staff gave us tickets to see LL Cool J as a substitute. DJ Pioneer is a huge fan and was thrilled beyond belief.
LL brought down the house! He did a mix of newer and older songs, and we all went nuts when he did “Rock the Bells.” At one point, he chose 10 women in the crowd to come up on stage and gave each of them a rose. They were melting in his hands like butter. It was a high-energy show. What a great night.

Album Coming Soon!
Thanks for checking in. Easy as Pie is right around the corner. We’re looking at a July 10th release date, but things could always change. The album is basically done, but it needs a little tweaking here and there. Get pumped!

First Single: “Do I Belong?”

Writing Process / First Single
All lyrics for the upcoming Easy as Pie album have been completed. It will be 16 tracks long, and it will contain no collaborations with guest artists. “Maybe next time around we'll get a friend or two in the studio to lend a verse,” Pioneer commented. Much of the details concerning the new record have been kept a secret, but please believe us it will improve on the last effort. “I tried to put more emotion and intricate wordplay into the mix,” said DJP. The subject matter is a little darker in spots, and some words are more confrontative to the posers of the industry. Look for the first single to be released within the next two weeks.

Concrete Details
The forthcoming Pioneer album, Easy as Pie, will contain all original lyrics and other artists’ beats (with the original DJ Pioneer spin of course). He has decided to temporarily shelve the few original beats he's been working on. They'll be used on the next project. The album is coming along, and you should expect a single to be released in the next few weeks. More than half of the new songs have been completely written. They include some of P's best work to date. As always, thanks for stopping by.

Cover / Ideas
Hey, thanks for
checking in. The new album will be
titled Easy as Pie, and a temporary cover has been sketched for the time
being (can be seen on the Discography page).
The finished version will be touched up and slightly altered for
sure. Pioneer has mixed feelings about
his direction in the music world. He had
this to say:
“I don't mind using other people's beats, but I'd really like to be able to make my own. I've been looking into purchasing a keyboard and a cheap drum machine to mess around with. Buying original beats from other people won't get me anywhere. I feel like I could take my creativity to the next level.”
Stay tuned.

Timely Update
Welcome back, everyone. Pioneer has been sporadically working on the new album, tentatively titled Easy as Pie. Three songs have been completely written, and a few others have gotten started. Look for some exclusive material on the Downloads page. The album is still being scheduled for a Summer '07 release date.

Back in tha Lab
DJ Pioneer is reportedly back to work on his follow-up to In the Night Sky. He has a new song written already. He divulged this info to us:
"To stay alive in the hip hop game, you have to keep working and striving to become better. The moment you stop, your reputation, status, and people's interest diminishes."
The new album will contain less tracks as Pioneer promised:
“18 tracks was a little exhausting for the listeners' ears and me.”
Title and release info are TBA.

MLK Update
Hey everyone, thanks for sticking with us. Pioneer’s been catching up on everything else lately, enjoying his time off for a few weeks before getting back to work. So far, the new album has been getting mixed reviews from listeners, and DJP had this to say:
“I understand where they're coming from. I know my music isn't for everyone. Even if people don't like it, I hope they at least respect it.”
